What it is

Suno Studio 2.0 is a browser DAW for musicians who finish generations without switching programs.

  • MIDI editing, audio recording, and audio import to assemble tracks.
  • Wavetable synthesizer to generate instrument sounds.
  • Audio effects and automation to shape track parameters.
  • Chat Bar to generate sounds and custom effects.

Available only to Premier subscribers, with no VST or Audio Units support. We get a Suno workspace to generate and finish tracks, not a DAW to replace third-party plugin setups.

Development line

  • 2025-08-11 — Suno Studio opened a waitlist. On 2025-08-11, Suno shared a link to the Studio waitlist. The link shows the waitlist stage but does not specify product scope, availability, or access terms.
  • 2026-08-13 — Suno published a Studio 2 update. On 2026-08-13, Suno linked to the Studio 2 blog post. This update followed the waitlist stage, but the link alone does not state the features or release status.

What changed

  • 2025-08-11 — Suno opened the waitlist for Studio; the product launched later.
  • 2026-08-13 — Studio 2.0 replaced the original Studio as a generative DAW with MIDI, a wavetable synthesizer, effects, automation, and the Chat Bar.
  • 2026-09-02 — Suno patched Studio after release, improving Chat Bar tempo handling and undo, plugin copying, wavetable synthesizer quality, project loading, and MIDI/MP3 export.

How to use this

As of 2026-08-13, we treat Suno Studio as a line that moved from a waitlist to Studio 2; verify access and features in Suno docs before relying on it.

  1. Subscribe to Premier and open Studio in Google Chrome; Safari does not support Web MIDI. — https://help.suno.com/en/articles/13670529
  2. Create or open a project, then import or record audio and MIDI on the timeline. — https://suno.com/blog/studio-2
  3. Add a MIDI clip, edit notes, or use the clip to drive a new audio generation. — https://suno.com/blog/studio-2
  4. Select a track, add an effect, and arrange the chain; device order changes the sound. — https://help.suno.com/en/articles/13670785
  5. Open Chat Bar to build a custom effect, describe it, confirm settings, and save it to the library. — https://help.suno.com/en/articles/13670785
  6. Export the finished track, stems, or multitrack; Premier Studio claims unlimited 32-bit/48 kHz export. — https://suno.com/blog/studio-2

Best practices

Superseded by this

  • 2026-08-13 — Studio 2.0 replaced Studio 1.x; older projects open in 2.0, but saving 2.0 features prevents opening them back in 1.x.
  • 2026-09-02 — An updated Chat Bar replaced the launch version, adding BPM awareness, edit undo, and better reliability.

Still unknown

  • The studio-waitlist page now redirects to Studio 2.0; we have no archive of its content on 2025-08-11. That date confirms only that a pre-launch waitlist existed, not its terms.
  • The link to The source was not used as evidence because Suno's primary sources prove the claims directly.
